There are many water-related diseases and most of them are due to lack of sanitation

Infected person > Pathogen in excreta > Contamination of water source > Consumption of untreated water > Infection of other person

Prevention of water contamination is essential in the fight against infections. Access to clean water and adequate sanitation is a key priority for a better and healthier life.

Soroptimist Water Project – Cottica Region (Suriname)
The purpose of the visit was to study projects of National Women’s Movement (NVB) of Suriname and the whole trip was funded by Women for Water Partnership.
We saw projects in the sector of sanitation, education, health, and agriculture. It was intriguing to see the way in which NVB was working with local women.
